The following examples give an insight into what sektoreins can be used for.
The interactive diagrams are designed for larger screens. On a phone they can only be used to a limited extent.
The diagram shows in simplified form how sektoreins connects individual devices with each other: from sensors and pumps through relays to heat pump and CHP unit, everything communicates with the cloud platform via a local gateway. Click on a device to learn more about its role in the system.

Communication & integration
Protocol abstraction, driver architecture, edge computing
Modbus here, BACnet there, somewhere a manufacturer cloud without direct device access. The protocol abstraction layer in the gateway makes all of that a side issue — on top of it there is always the same unified API.

Modular driver architecture
Device-specific drivers are isolated modules loaded at runtime. New manufacturers or device types can be integrated without the gateway requiring firmware updates.

Edge computing
Preprocessing, aggregation and signal filtering run locally on the gateway processor. Control latency below 100 ms; a WAN connection is not required for basic operation.

Cloud-to-cloud connection
Where direct fieldbus access is not possible, sektoreins connects through manufacturer REST APIs or WebSocket endpoints — for example Fronius Solar.API, SMA Sunny Portal, FusionSolar.
